ARTWORK REQUIREMENTS
All 2D and 3D media welcome (painting, illustration, photo, weaving, ceramics, jewellery, apparel, etc.)
2D Size: Maximum dimensions 3’ x 6” (max)
3D Size: 2’x2’x2’ (max)
Digital: Submissions must be hires 300dpi PDF
Note: Work must be ready for display (framed/mounted if needed)
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: OCT 1ST, 2025
Artist notification: We will notify you of acceptance into the show no later than Oct 15th, 2025

Note: We will have tables to display crafts and smaller items. We will not be able to accommodate any super complex set up requests.
your mission
Select one (or more) words from the NYT article on 100 disappearing words below and make them the focus of your creations. Whether you draw, paint, sculpt, weave, craft, photograph, or work in any other medium—we want to see your unique artistic interpretation. Bedazzle it.
Transform these words into powerful visual statements. Celebrate them, honor them, or reclaim them. The word(s) should be the heart of what you make.
We’re looking for varied approaches—from bold graphic statements to hand-crafted t-shirts. What you make will be displayed and sold (for donation to The Trevor Project) at The Department of Insubordination Art & Craft Show November 16th.
